I bet if you asked 1,000 Americans who the head of the Republican Party was, 10% might know. And an even smaller subsegment of that group would know that Michael Steele is black. The media spent virtually no time reporting on his historic election to that position.
And don't expect them to pay any attention at least until he gets fired for not doing an incredibly good job.
