Carter Redux

Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to Obama is nothing more than Carter Redux. Carter, as you may remember, won the prize in 2002 for running around declaiming the President of the United States, George W Bush, as a warmonger. Bush had asked the world to focus their attention directly on the megalomaniacal dictator sitting in Baghdad and was beating the drums for direct action against him. In awarding the NPP to Carter, the Leftists in charge of that body believed they could influence US foreign policy. This prize is no different. It's an attempt to thwart any military options that the US has on the table with regard to Afghanistan or Iran. And it may just work because President Obama is so soft-headed.
